H.O.P.E. Foundation Middle School Hygiene Adoption Program

Summary:

Middle school can be challenging for students, especially as they navigate puberty, which typically begins between ages 8 and 14. This period often coincides with their middle school years (ages 11 to 14), making hygiene particularly crucial. However, financial constraints and lack of government assistance for hygiene products can leave many students without essential supplies. Our program aims to support middle schools in our target area by providing monthly hygiene and period pack donations to students in need, ensuring they have access to the necessary items for their well-being and confidence.

Vision:

From October 2024 until May 2025, we aim to provide monthly donations to middle schools in Virginia and North Carolina. Each month, we will supply up to six schools with hygiene bags and period packs.

Background:

During the 2023-2024 school year (October to March), our past program successfully donated 725 period packs, 466 hygiene packs, 156 laundry packs and countless single items to schools in Virginia and North Carolina.  The schools included Armstrong HS, River City MS, Henderson MS, Fairfield MS, Dogwood MS, Hampton Roads, JW Parker MS, & McGhees Crossroads MS.

Goal:

The goal of the H.O.P.E. Foundation Middle School Hygiene Adoption Program is to make a monthly donation of essential hygiene products to each of our adopted middle schools. By providing hygiene items like period packs, soap, shampoo, and other necessities, we aim to ensure that students have what they need to feel confident and cared for. Our goal is to ease the burden for families while promoting health, dignity, and well-being for students in need.
